A Bowie, Maryland, woman has landed in legal hot water after law enforcement caught her behind the wheel of a vehicle reported stolen. Kristen Renay Pugh, 32, found herself in cuffs Saturday night as authorities in Laurel acted on a tip regarding the stolen vehicle, Fox Baltimore reported. Police officers patrolling the vicinity of Laurel Ft Meade Road at around 10:20 p.m. located the vehicle in question and approached the driver, who complied by alighting from the vehicle. Subsequently, Pugh was arrested. No injuries or disturbances occurred, according to authorities.
"The driver exited the vehicle and was placed under arrest without incident and was charged accordingly," police said in a statement, a detail also echoed in Shore News Network's coverage of the incident. The arrest was reportedly part of a coordinated effort, with police attributing the successful recovery of the stolen vehicle to timely information received during their patrol.
Following her arrest, she is set to face charges related to the stolen vehicle, while the prospect of additional charges remains ambiguous as authorities continue their inquiries into the case.
