In a recent announcement via social media, the Bradenton Police Department reported that they are on the hunt for a suspect involved in the theft of an e-bike. The crime took place last Sunday, just before 7 p.m., in front of the local Publix on SR-64 E. The owner had locked the bike to the rack before heading into the store, only to return and find it gone. The police are turning to the public for assistance in identifying the individual seen in the surveillance video making off with the bike.

According to the Bradenton Police Department's Facebook post, details about both the suspect and the stolen e-bike have been released in an effort to solicit tips from the community. Described as around 6'1 and 205 lbs, the suspect interacted with the e-bike briefly before taking it. The e-bike itself is distinct, with its grey color scheme, a left-side mirror, orange, and black phone holder and black saddlebags. Images captured by surveillance are critical leads in this investigation, as they may help identify the suspect.

The department has explicitly asked anyone who might recognize the individual or have any information regarding the stolen e-bike to reach out. Directing the public's tips and leads, Bradenton Police have provided an official email contact. "If you recognize the suspect or have information on the stolen bike, please email Officer Hasanbasic at [email protected]," says the department's post.
