Channeling their erstwhile rivalry into a musical collaboration the duo has decided to bury the hatchet with Brandy noting on CBS Mornings, "It was a dream come true," as they opted not to vie for love but rather for applause, rekindling their dynamic partnership that now spans over a quarter-century, Monica described the union as a "musical marriage," "We created the communication and the relationship to do it," Monica told CBS Mornings.
Reflecting on their past, which was marred by rumors of discord, both artists acknowledged previous tensions during the CBS interview, with Monica shedding light on the conflicts, "There was a lot of confusion and conflict and there was a lot of people around," but they emphasized their differences in taste in partners, "We don't even like the same type of boy…there could never have been a boy," said Monica to CBS.
