The Brighton Police Department is seeking public assistance in their hunt for a suspect involved in a recent incident of criminal eluding, which not only put the community at risk but also resulted in the damage to a police vehicle as well as a civilian's car, this according to an official alert released by the department.

The situation unfolded on Thursday when, at approximately 11:10 a.m., law enforcement officers converged on the Super Target located at 2171 Prairie Center Parkway after receiving distress calls reporting a woman who had passed out in her car, when officers and medical responders made contact with the woman she woke up and confessed to consuming an unknown controlled substance, she abruptly shut her car door and recklessly fled the area colliding with both a police cruiser and a bystander’s vehicle in her escape, as detailed by the Brighton Police Department.

Thankfully, the erratic escape did not result in physical harm to police officers or members of the public, though it did prompt a chase; however, due to the dangerous speeds and the potential risk to the community, officers decided to call off the pursuit once they lost sight of the suspect's vehicle, a 2012 black Honda Accord with New Jersey license plates P77UHA, currently missing its front bumper due to the collisions.

Authorities have since identified the suspect as 35-year-old Sarah Kelley, who notably has more than ten outstanding warrants for her arrest and, despite the incident occurring days ago, she remains at large, the police are now relying on the eyes and ears of the community to assist in locating Sarah so they've released a photo and ask that any information regarding her whereabouts be reported to the police.
