Mark your calendars for a day of community engagement and celebration at the annual City Barbecue in Brighton. Set for Thursday, July 17 from 5:30 to 8 p.m., the City Council is hosting the event at Carmichael Park, located at 650 E. Southern Street, as announced on the city's official website.
The gathering promises to be more than just a feast for the taste buds, with opportunities for residents to meet their City Council members personally and gain insight into the future developments planned for the area. Having completed another trip around the sun, Brighton will be commemorating its 138th anniversary during this occasion.
According to the City of Brighton, the event will also feature live music from Grizzly Gopher at 6 p.m., part of the City’s summer movie and concert series, Flix & Kicks. The barbecue is expected to serve as a platform for city departments, local organizations, and nonprofits to interact with the public and distribute relevant information.
The festivity also showcases the bright young minds of Brighton's tomorrow, with youth entrepreneurs presenting the fruits of their innovation, thanks to the Young Entrepreneurship Program. While savoring free meals on a first-come, first-served basis, attendees can support these young business minds by purchasing their products.
