With a substantial number of entries, 659 to be exact, spread across 29 categories, the department stood out by securing two prestigious accolades. The recognition came in the form of a TAMI Award for their Victim Assistance Poster Program, designed to resonate with victims during their most vulnerable times, and an Award of Excellence for a creative video PSA, "Lego in Motion," that succeeded in both amusing and connecting with the community.
According to a social media post from the Burleson Police Department, the department's efforts with these projects reflected their dedication to "creative, heartfelt, and effective communication" with residents, emphasizing support and safety the police department goes beyond the call to connect with the town's people and it resonates with this type of acknowledgment.
The Victim Assistance Poster Program was specially recognized for reaching out to individuals during times of distress, providing a message of solidarity and hope.
