The City Council of Carrollton has announced its new Mayor Pro Tem and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem in the latest shuffle of city leadership. At the council meeting held last Tuesday, Christopher Axberg was appointed as the Mayor Pro Tem, with Daisy Palomo stepping into the role of Deputy Mayor Pro Tem. Set to assume their new responsibilities on July 1, the pair will be taking over the city's mayoral duties whenever the current mayor, Steve Babick, is unavailable, as per the City of Carrollton.
This reshuffling of positions is a part of the city's usual operations, but it marks significant career milestones for both council members. Axberg, who first won the elections for Place 1 in 2022 and secured reelection in 2024, has been serving as the Deputy Mayor Pro Tem since June of the preceding year and is set to continue his term until 2027. Palomo, with her term running through 2026, assumed office in 2023 representing Place 6.
Their appointments reflect the confidence of the City Council in their leadership abilities. As Mayor Pro Tem, Axberg is now the first in line to fill in for Mayor Babick, and as Deputy Mayor Pro Tem, Palomo is prepared to step in should both Babick and Axberg be unavailable. These roles are crucial to ensuring continuity in governance and maintaining a steadfast leadership structure within the Carrollton city administration.
