The organization recently garnered three accolades at the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) conference for its exceptional efforts in municipal marketing and communications. These state awards celebrated the City of Carrollton Marketing Services Department's significant emphasis on fostering community engagement and keeping the public informed.

Recognized for their proficiency in municipal government communication, Carrollton's marketing team received the TAMI Award for Best Recurring Special Event for the 2024 Festival at the Switchyard. Moreover, the 2023 Popular Annual Financial Report brought home an Award of Excellence in the Print & Digital category. The accolades, as the city was decked in praise for a day they dubbed the 2024 Future Public Employee Day, also fetched an Award of Excellence for Internal Communications. With these recognitions, Carrollton's dedicated staff continues to make strides in providing programs that serve not only residents but businesses and visitors, too.

The TAMIO awards, held from June 4-6 in Fort Worth, represent a benchmark for municipal communications excellence in Texas. The awards program not only honors meritorious work but also fosters a learning environment through the sharing of best practices and novel communication tools. Kelli Lewis, Carrollton's Marketing Director, expressed her pride in the team's achievements, saying, per the City of Carrollton, "Carrollton strives to be the community that families and businesses want to call home, and our hardworking staff prioritize communication and engagement as part of those efforts." Her statement was revealed in the city's news release.
