In a solemn display of unity and respect, dozens of law enforcement officers from across Central Ohio convened at the Columbus Fraternal Order of Police early this morning. Their purpose was singular — to honor the life and service of Deputy Daniel Weston Sherrer of the Morrow County Sheriff's Office, Mt. Gilead, Ohio, who recently fell in the line of duty.
The gathering represented a broad coalition of law enforcement agencies, with many participants sharing a personal connection to Deputy Sherrer, including those who had trained alongside him during their OPOTA certification class. According to a social media post from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, the officers and deputies converged to offer their collective support to Deputy Sherrer's family, the Morrow County Sheriff's Office, and to each other within the law enforcement community.
"These officers and deputies came from different agencies across Central Ohio — some of them had even gone through the OPOTA certification class with Deputy Sherrer," the Franklin County Sheriff's Office shared.
