Chula Vista's search for a new city manager has ended with the City Council's unanimous decision to appoint Tiffany Allen, taking over as the second-largest city in San Diego County continues to expand and evolve. "We are excited to welcome Tiffany Allen as our new City Manager. She is an exceptional leader with a wealth of experience and deep understanding of Chula Vista’s unique needs," the City Council enthused, per the City of Chula Vista. Allen’s ascent to the position aligns with her more than twenty years of hands-on experience within various city departments, her work spanning from land development to budget management.

Before stepping up as Assistant City Manager, Allen held positions that included Deputy City Manager, Director and Assistant Director of Development Services, and the City’s Treasury Manager. She was prominent in advancing the Chula Vista Bayfront and University and Innovation District, among other notable projects. "I am honored and thrilled to become City Manager for the City of Chula Vista at such a pivotal time in its growth and development," Allen told the City of Chula Vista. Her experience with the city's first-ever Project Labor Agreement further highlights her capacity for spearheading substantial city endeavors.

Allen's responsibilities as City Manager will include the ongoing progress of landmark projects like the Chula Vista Bayfront, the Millenia Library, and the University and Innovation District, fostering additional public infrastructure and economic growth while amplifying community engagement. A graduate of the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in Political Science, Allen also holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Walden University. Her professional affiliations include the Urban Land Institute, Lambda Alpha International, the International City/County Management Association, and the Municipal Management Association of Southern California.

Allen is set to step into her new role as City Manager on October 3, following the retirement of Maria V. Kachadoorian, who is concluding nearly four decades of service.
