Early morning shenanigans at a Speedway gas station in Canal Winchester have local law enforcement on the lookout for a cigarette bandit. According to a social media post by the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office, yesterday, a suspect embarked on supposedly making their nicotine-fix methods more direct than usual, by lifting multiple cartons directly from a gas station's display case.
Reports state that at about 5:00 a.m., the individual marched into the gas station, deftly converting a trash can into an impromptu loot bag. The suspect is said to have "grabbed a trash can and stole numerous cartons of cigarettes from the display case and upper cabinets" before casually exiting the premises, according to the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office. They weren't finished there. In an apparent desire to swiftly leave the scene, the suspect was seen getting into a "gold-colored Chrysler," which may now be just as complicit in this tobacco caper.
For those who might hold any piece of this puzzle, the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office's Detective Joseph Jenkins is the person to ring. Jenkins can be contacted at (740) 652-7336 or reached via email at [email protected] for those preferring to share their insights digitally. With the community's assistance, officials are hoping to identify the perpetrator sooner rather than later.
