
The Clay County Sheriff's Office in Florida is reaching out to local residents for assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an auto-burglary incident. According to a social media post from Clay County Sheriff's Office, the individual is wanted for a theft that took place at the Oakleaf Ball Field, located at 3979 Plantation Oaks Boulevard.
The event occurred while a victim was absorbed in watching a softball game, between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm on October 22, 2024. The suspect allegedly seized a wallet from the victim's car and then proceeded to attempt using the stolen credit cards at various locations in the Middleburg area. The office shared images of the suspect, who was captured on surveillance footage during the act.
Investigators are urging anyone who may have details pertaining to the case to come forward. The Clay County Sheriff's Office has made it simple for civilians to provide tips through the SaferWatch app—an avenue that also allows for the possibility of a financial reward. As stated by the Clay County's social media outreach, "Anyone with information regarding this is encouraged to submit a tip through the SaferWatch app. You can remain anonymous and earn up to a $5,000 reward if the information leads to an arrest or significantly advances the case."
