The Clearwater Police Department is on the lookout for a suspect involved in a theft case from Clearwater Beach yesterday. In a post shared on their official Facebook page, the police sought help from the public to identify a man accused of stealing three unattended bags near Tower 2, shortly after 3 p.m. According to the social media update, the alleged thief skimmed a total of $1,350 in cash from the combined bags after taking them to a nearby location. Apparently, he decided against taking other valuables, leaving behind wallets, credit cards, phones, watches, and suchlike.
Described by Clearwater Police, the suspect was adorned with a straw hat, sunglasses, and diamond earrings, an attempt perhaps to blend inconspicuously among the beachgoers.
