Volleyball fans, it's game on as Cleveland State University announces the lineup for their 2025 season, and this year they're packing the Woodling Gymnasium with more spikes, digs, and high-flying action over a 29-match slate with 13 home showdowns, as reported by the Cleveland State Athletics website.
Brace yourselves, sports enthusiasts, because tickets are already up for grabs, and whether you're a die-hard season-ticket holder ready to commit to all 13 home matches for $75 or just planning to catch a single match for $12 a pop – $10 if you're 12 and under – you can snag your seats online, which is obviously the way to go unless you feel like dialing (216) 687-4848 to chat about group packages. Starting things off, the team hits the road to Wyoming for a tournament from August 29 through 31, squaring off against Colorado, Tulsa, and the host Cowgirls, then it's back to their home turf on September 3 to duke it out with Akron during the CSU Invitational.
The heat doesn't dissipate as September propels the defending #HLVB Tournament Champions through a gauntlet with American and ETSU in that first homestand weekend, and the fun doesn't stop there, folks, because the NC State Tournament from September 12-14 features match-ups against Coastal Carolina and Duke, not to mention a dance with the host Wolfpack for good measure. Like a one-two punch, they'll wrap up non-league play with a head-to-head against Kent State and a finishing move at Akron, solidifying the pre-conference calendar.
As for Horizon League play, the Vikings, armed with their champion status, storm Northern Kentucky and Oakland in late September, and fans finally get to roar from the stands on October 3 and 4 when Wright State visits, then our Vikings depart once more for bouts at Green Bay and Purdue Fort Wayne; however, they'll soon come back to treat fans to a five-game smorgasbord starting with RMU on October 24 and 25, and yes, people, there's still more to get pumped about. A trip to Youngstown State is on the books for November 6 and 7, with Milwaukee arriving to cap off the regular season on November 14 and 15, before the Horizon League Tournament takes center stage November 21-23.
So, with volleyballs set to sky-high soar and sneakers ready to squeak across the polished Woodling Gymnasium floor, the 2025 Cleveland State volleyball season is shaping up to be a powerhouse of athletic prowess to witness – mark your calendars, get your tickets, and let's get ready to cheer on the CSU Vikings as they embark on another hopeful journey to victory.
