Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers have launched a death investigation after two individuals were pronounced dead upon police arrival to the 5000 block of Equipment Drive in the North Tryon Division. According to CMPD press release, the incident occurred today, around noon when officers responded to an assistance request originally addressed to MEDIC.
Upon reaching the scene, officers found two subjects who were not living and MEDIC units were already in attendance. The CMPD's Homicide Unit, alongside Crime Scene Search, arrived shortly after to swiftly commence an investigation and begin to collect physical evidence that may offer up clues to the unfolding of this tragic event. The active and ongoing status of the case ensures that further pieces of information are to likely slowly come forth from CMPD's Public Affairs Office.
The identities of the deceased have not been disclosed at this juncture, as the investigation remains in its early stages.
