Authorities in Victor Valley responded swiftly to a report of a theft in progress last Thursday, resulting in the arrest of a convicted felon. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, deputies arrived at a Lucerne Valley residence on the 15000 block of Harrod Road to find suspect Caleb Christensen allegedly attempting to make off with a 40-foot shipping container.
The container was attached to a trailer and, upon contact, the property owner clarified that Christensen never received authorization to remove it. Deputies would soon uncover that Christensen, a 48-year-old resident of Apple Valley, was not merely overstepping property lines, but doing so as someone forbidden to possess firearms. A search warrant was quickly executed at Christensen's residence, revealing a shocking cache of 41 firearms and another stolen shipping container. Details provided by the Sheriff's Department later compelled Christensen's transport to the High Desert Detention Center.
