
A pedestrian was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle late Tuesday night on West Flamingo Road. The incident occurred while the person was crossing the street outside of a designated crosswalk, according to a report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The collision occurred just before midnight, when a 2020 Ford Escape, driven by 46-year-old Sarah Aguilera of Las Vegas, was heading west on Flamingo Road and struck the 33-year-old male pedestrian, who "crossed in front of the Ford Escape", with the front right of the vehicle, as described in a statement obtained by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The victim, whose identity has yet to be publicly disclosed pending notification of next of kin, was projected northwest onto the roadway from the impact and subsequently transported to the University Medical Center Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries; meanwhile, Aguilera remained at the scene and cooperated with officials, showing no signs of impairment during the preliminary investigation, as per the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
