Yesterday, a violent robbery escalated into a high-speed chase that tragically ended in a fatal car accident. The Dallas Police Department reported that it responded to a robbery call around 1:40 a.m. at the 9800 block of Dale Crest Drive, where a victim was robbed at gunpoint. Three juvenile suspects managed to flee with the victim's vehicle and personal property.
Shortly after the robbery, officers located the stolen vehicle in the 2700 block of W Northwest Highway. A collision occurred in the 3100 block of W Northwest Highway at approximately 2 a.m. when a Dallas Police squad car, with two officers inside, attempted to stop the stolen vehicle. The stolen car, carrying the suspects, collided with the police vehicle, resulting in injuries to all parties involved.
According to the Dallas Police Department, two of the suspects were critically injured and taken to the hospital, where one of the juveniles later died. The surviving suspects' condition has not been updated. The officers involved were also hospitalized but have since been released.
