Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office swiftly responded to a theft in progress at the AutoNation Dealership located at 21027 North Freeway yesterday evening. The crime was interrupted when the suspects, later identified as Jesus Villareal and Andres Villasenor Jr., were caught breaking into a vehicle, all captured on the dealership's video surveillance system.
With the would-be thieves on video, law enforcement arrived at the scene to find the suspects still within the vicinity of their alleged crime. The deputies didn't hesitate to establish a perimeter and to quickly deploy a department drone to track down the suspects. The eyes in the sky managed to allow officers to quickly apprehend the two men as they attempted to flee on foot from the property.
Upon their detention, it was discovered that Villareal and Villasenor were in possession of key fob programmers, devices which presumably aided in their attempted theft. According to a post by Constable Mark Herman's Office, "Jesus Villareal and Andres Villasenor Jr were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Attempted Theft of Motor Vehicle. Villareal's bond was set at $2,500.00 and Villasenor's bond was set at $5,000.00 out of the 337th District Court."
