The Evergreen State Fair food drive takes place from June 20 to July 10, allowing people to donate non-perishable food items at select Lee Johnson Auto Family dealerships in exchange for a weekday fair ticket. Those who donate five or more items will receive one ticket, with a limit of one per person and up to five per vehicle. Tickets are available while supplies last, according to the Snohomish County.
The Evergreen State Fair will hold a drive-thru donation event on July 12 in the fairground's west parking lot and at the Sultan Shindig. The goal is to collect more than the 17,000 pounds of food donated last year. Fair Manager Mike Ohlsen said, “We love seeing people step up and help others. This food drive is a small way to make a big difference.” Sharon Walker, Director of Snohomish County Parks & Recreation, said, “Every item donated matters. We’re proud to work with partners who care about this region as much as we do.”
Visitors to the Evergreen State Fair can take part in a food drive by donating non-perishable items such as canned goods, whole-grain pasta, peanut butter, and pet food to receive a ticket promotion. While cash donations are accepted, they do not qualify for the offer. Participating drop-off locations are listed on the fair’s food drive webpage, as reported by the Snohomish County.
