A driver died in a crash in West Houston on Sunday evening after fleeing from police. The Memorial Village Police Department said the incident started the day before, when officers tried to stop the vehicle for having no tail lights. The driver did not stop and led police on a high-speed chase, which ended in a fatal crash. The driver has not yet been identified, as reported by Click2Houston.
Last Saturday, Houston police tried to stop a vehicle, but the driver sped away. The next evening, officers saw the same vehicle and attempted another traffic stop, which the driver again ignored. The vehicle ran red lights while traveling east on Westheimer, hit two cars at Gessner, and then another at Fondren, where it caught fire. The driver, who was alone in the car, died at the scene. Others involved had minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, according to Houston Chronicle.
