In a recent update concerning a string of violent incidents in Duluth, local law enforcement announced the arrest of two individuals, 37-year-old Lance Houle and Steve Sholtey, also 37, for their alleged involvement in a robbery that preceded a homicide in the city. According to an official document released by the Duluth Police Department, the robbery in question occurred on the 100 block of East 4th Street, late Saturday night, June 14th.
Houle and Sholtey, apprehended by authorities on June 20th, face charges including 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery; with Sholtey additionally accused of being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and facing Felony Domestic charges. The robbery is believed to be linked to a homicide that transpired the following day, with the police considering the investigation active and ongoing, withholding further information presently.
The homicide itself took place early on June 15th, when the Duluth Police Department responded to a call regarding a shooting on the 100 block of East 3rd Street. Arriving promptly at 1:30 am, officers discovered a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention and rushed transport to a local health facility, the victim, later identified as 37-year-old Cody Thomas Telega, succumbed to his injuries. A second male was targeted but escaped physical harm. The prompt communication between regional law enforcement resulted in the detention of two suspects, Antonio Duryea Hendon, aged 35, and 41-year-old Amber Michele Rose Walker, by the Cloquet Police Department and Carlton County Sheriff's Office.
Charges lodged against the detainees at St Louis County Jail include 2nd Degree Murder and 1st Degree Assault for Hendon, and Aiding and Abetting 2nd Degree Murder for Walker.
