
Tragedy struck in East Austin after a house fire claimed the lives of two individuals. According to FOX 7 Austin, the Austin Fire Department responded to an emergency call and arrived at the 3000 block of Pecan Springs Road to find a home nearly three-quarters engulfed in flames around 2:30 a.m.
Officials reported that one person managed to escape the blaze on their own, however, firefighters had to rescue a second individual from the inferno. Despite the immediate extinguishing of the fire, declared under control by 2:40 a.m., the outcomes proved somber. Firefighters and Austin-Travis County EMS frantically performed CPR on a woman who was retrieved from the home, but she tragically succumbed at the scene, as per statements obtained by CBS Austin.
Inside the home, responders discovered a male victim who was also pronounced dead. The full names and identities of the victims have not been released, with authorities maintaining confidentiality as investigations proceed.
