
A somber update follows the early morning violence that unfolded in East St. Louis, as the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has now identified the teenage boy who lost his life in the shooting. The deceased has been named as 16-year-old Octavius Harris. The incident, which took place at 900 O'Fallon Street shortly after 3:20 am on Sunday, resulted in Harris' death at the scene and left two other teens wounded.
Officers responding to the call found a sedan occupied by four teenagers, three of whom sustained gunshot injuries. With the 16-year-old male pronounced dead at the scene, an 18-year-old female and a 17-year-old male were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. They are currently listed in stable condition. While the teens had just left a nearby party, they were targeted by gunfire from two armed individuals.
The St. Louis Police offer no suspects yet, but homicide detectives are actively pursuing leads in their investigation.
