Eastvale authorities carried out a specially targeted theft operation on May 30, intended to combat the rising issue of retail theft. In a collaborative strike, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station and the Eastvale Special Enforcement Team joined forces with Loss Prevention experts to take a stand against crime impacting local businesses and community safety. The task force set their eyes on a bustling commercial area in the 12500 block of Limonite Avenue, where they successfully identified and apprehended multiple retail theft offenders.

The operation culminated in several arrests, bringing individuals accused of misdemeanors and felonies to account for their actions. Among those arrested was 32-year-old Jennifer Azarcon, from Ontario, who now faces charges of grand theft. Cory Auzminski, a 29-year-old residing in Jurupa Valley, is confronted with a trifecta of allegations: petty theft with priors, violation of probation, and shoplifting. Others caught in the act included residents ranging in age from 19 to the remarkably senior 71-year-old Teressa Chu, their charges varying from simple shoplifting to conspiracy and drug offenses.

In a statement obtained by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office, the efforts are said to reflect the region’s ongoing resolution to reverse the tide against crimes that leave a dent on the economy of Eastvale. The local law enforcement's dedication to this cause is well-matched by legal mechanisms like Proposition 36, proposed to ensure that retail theft is met with appropriate legal consequences.
