As summer heats up and visitors flock to enjoy the scenic vistas and outdoor activities that El Dorado County offers, local officials are reminding the public about the resources available to deal with vacation home rental troubles. The County has established a Vacation Home Rental Hotline, which residents can call to report issues ranging from excessive noise to trash problems. According to the El Dorado County official statements, the hotline serves as a direct line to address concerns about the El Dorado County Vacation Home Rental Ordinance.

Residents are encouraged to call the VHR Hotline at (530) 573-7999 if they see problems like loud noise between 10 pm and 8 am, too many people staying in a rental, parking issues, trash buildup, or missing signs. Brendan Ferry from the Tahoe Planning and Building Division says the hotline is open 24/7, so people can report issues anytime, as reported by the El Dorado County.

El Dorado County Code Enforcement Officers are available to respond to VHR hotline calls until 7:00 pm Sunday–Wednesday, 10:00 pm on Thursdays, and 1:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays. Calls made outside these hours will be handled the next morning. For urgent issues after hours, residents should call the Sheriff's non-emergency number.

The initiative underscores a commitment to maintaining community standards in residential areas popular with tourists. "Our goal is to maintain a healthy balance in our neighborhoods that supports both residents and visitors," Ferry noted, as stated by the El Dorado County.
