In a recent incident that escalated quickly, El Paso Police were called to a scene of domestic turmoil that resulted in the shooting of a 32-year-old male suspect. The report, disseminated by the El Paso Police Department, indicates that the officers arrived at the 9500 block of North Loop, where they confronted the armed individual.
According to the El Paso Police Department, the suspect, wielding a knife in each hand, posed an immediate threat to both a relative and the responding officers, refusing to heed verbal commands. In a swift response, an eight-month veteran of the force discharged his weapon at the suspect. Following protocol, emergency medical services attended to the man on the scene before transporting him to the local hospital.
Fortunately, no law enforcement personnel sustained injuries during the altercation. The El Paso Police Department's comment reiterated that the Crimes Against Persons is continuing with the investigation, as well as the Internal Affairs Shooting Review Team and the Texas Rangers, aligning with standard procedures for officer-involved shootings.
