
Eric Peterson will begin his role as deputy county manager of Coconino County on July 1, following the retirement of Kim Musselman. The appointment was announced by County Manager Andy Bertelsen, according to the Coconino County.
Eric Peterson, who previously served as Coconino County’s Director of Public Affairs and Communications until May 2021, is returning with extensive experience in public service. Most recently, he worked in Webster Groves, Missouri, as Assistant City Manager/Director of Finance and Administration, where he improved the city’s finances and supported arts and business initiatives. Coconino County Administrator Steve Bertelsen stated, “Eric is a professional, dedicated public servant. His skills and experience bring balance, breadth and depth to the leadership team and I am confident he will strengthen the organization in this role.”
Peterson is returning to Arizona to take a new role in Coconino County. “I am looking forward to coming back to Coconino County to serve the wonderful people of our county and develop a more robust, responsive government with the dedicated leaders in our County government,” he said. He will work with Bertelsen and Deputy County Manager Erika Philpot to support daily operations and help carry out the county’s strategic goals.
