Drivers should plan for possible delays on westbound Interstate 84 east of Pendleton on Tuesday next week. According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, highway striping will take place between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., causing delays of up to 15 minutes.
The work will start near milepost 238 at the Meacham Interchange. A rolling slowdown will be used, with traffic control vehicles pacing traffic to allow time for the paint to be applied and to dry.
Drivers are advised to avoid driving over freshly painted lines and to give space to paint trucks. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through as needed. The Oregon Department of Transportation recommends allowing extra travel time and using caution in the area.
