A tragic incident unfolded earlier today in Duquesne as a fire claimed one life and left three others injured. The inferno rapidly spread across multiple homes, causing devastation to the community, according to WPXI. Fire crews were called to the scene on North Third Street shortly after 1:30 a.m. to battle a blaze that completely engulfed a residence, resulting in its destruction, and subsequently damaged neighboring properties, one of which was deemed a complete loss.
The fire, which is currently under investigation, saw occupants from all three affected homes at the time it broke out—firefighters found one individual deceased. Three were subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment, the fire chief reported.
Still, it did not provide specifics on their condition, and with the county's homicide detectives joining the probe, details of the incident are still emerging, WTAE reported.
