Tragedy struck late Sunday night on Route 32 in Severn as a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a young man and injured another person. FOX Baltimore reported that Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to an incident at approximately 10:50 p.m., just east of the Telegraph Road overpass, where a 2021 Chevrolet Camaro veered off the road and collided with the center median guardrail.
After hitting the guardrail, the vehicle came to a halt and was subsequently enveloped in flames. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department was quick to respond and managed to put out the blaze. The driver, a 20-year-old woman from Easton, Maryland, waited at the scene for authorities, accompanied by several witnesses, as per the same source.
According to Daily Voice, the woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Her identity has not been disclosed, but police confirmed her as a resident of Easton.
The crash's second victim, a 22-year-old male passenger, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity remains withheld pending notification of next of kin. The Anne Arundel County Police Traffic Safety Section is spearheading the ongoing investigation into this harrowing event.
