The sweep, concentrated around Lake Street & Bloomington Avenue, saw collaboration from multiple federal agencies, as detailed in a social media post from the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD). Authorities present at the scene made no arrests.
As the procedures unfolded, the MPD was called in, expressly to manage the crowd that had begun forming, a task for which they responded after things were already in motion. The department's role was to contribute to crowd control and maintain public order, supporting "federal law enforcement in safely departing the area" after the operation's completion.
The MPD clarified their lack of involvement in immigration enforcement during this action.
