
Las Vegas residents and visitors experienced a brief disruption yesterday evening as a small fire broke out on the bustling South Las Vegas Boulevard. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported the incident which was quickly brought under control.

It was learned that an occupant in a vehicle threw fireworks causing a tree to catch fire.

The fire, contained to a single tree, was the result of some ill-advised pyrotechnics from a vehicle occupant. Through throwing fireworks carelessly, the individual set ablaze the tree, underscoring a moment of recklessness amidst the neon allure of the Strip's attractions. The LVMPD stated on their social media account, "We are investigating a small fire in the 3700 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. The fire was contained to a small area and was extinguished quickly."
As inquiries continue, the LVMPD is looking into the circumstances that led to this blaze set off by the fireworks. The situation could have escalated, but thanks to the swift extinguishing, Las Vegas avoided what could have been a more severe incident.
