The Florida Highway Patrol is calling for the public's assistance in locating the driver of a black Honda Accord involved in a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of a male bicyclist in Osceola County. As reported by WFTV, the incident, which unfolded on Pleasant Hill Road, occurred when the unidentified Honda and a Volkswagen Jetta were both travelling north, the Honda in the inside lane collided with the bicyclist who was crossing the intersection, propelling him into the path of the Jetta in the outside lane, which also struck him.

The driver of the second vehicle, a Jetta, attempted to swerve to avoid the bicyclist but was unable to prevent the secondary impact. The driver remained at the scene with the passenger of the Jetta to cooperate with the authorities. The incident took place yesterday around 5:30 a.m., according to FOX 35 Orlando. In contrast, the driver of the black Accord did not stop to render aid or provide information and was last seen fleeing northbound.

The Florida Highway Patrol has not yet been able to identify the make of the elusive Accord. The bicyclist, who was pronounced dead at the scene by officials, has not been identified at this point, as the medical examiner's office has not released any further details regarding the victim's identity.
