The former president of the Boling ISD board, Jerry James Svatek Jr., is facing federal child pornography charges. He was first arrested on Tuesday following an undercover investigation and a traffic stop by Texas DPS. After being released on bond, Svatek was rearrested two days later on additional federal charges, according to Click2Houston.
During his initial arrest, then-president of the Boling ISD board, Jerry Svatek, admitted to authorities that he had received child pornography and acknowledged using the aliases "Badhoustondad" and "HTownPlaything" in explicit conversations on adult websites, as reported by KHOU 11. The investigation began when a North Carolina detective, posing as a user online, interacted with Svatek, leading to a traffic stop where officers found over 100 child pornography videos in his phone’s recently deleted folder. The Homeland Security-led operation also resulted in the rescue of a 4-year-old victim of online sexual exploitation.
Following his arrest, Boling ISD Superintendent Keith Jedlicka confirmed that Jerry Svatek resigned from the Boling ISD Board of Trustees on Wednesday. Jedlicka stated, "Jerry Svatek resigned from the Boling ISD Board of Trustees on June 18, 2025. Effective immediately upon receipt he ceased all official duties and is no longer affiliated with the district in any capacity. Our focus remains on supporting our students, staff, and school community," as mentioned by Click2Houston. Svatek's name has since been removed from the board member listing on the Boling ISD website.
