A former Clermont County Sheriff's Deputy has been convicted of numerous sex crimes, including the rape of a child under 13, as reported by LOCAL12. Brigham Jones, the accused, could face life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, a sentencing scheduled for July 17.

The conviction comes after the victim, initially coming forward in 2013, bravely re-approached authorities as an adult in 2024, resulting in the filing of charges including rape of a child, rape, gross sexual battery, and sexual battery. Jones, who was deputy from 2013 to 2020, was terminated following an internal investigation related to a separate case, in which he pleaded guilty to sexual imposition earlier in 2025.

According to FOX19, a jury found Jones guilty of 33 counts on Thursday, after a four-day trial. Clermont County Prosecutor Mark Tekulve expressed his satisfaction with the verdict: “This verdict represents a long-awaited measure of justice,” Tekulve stated, highlighting the resilience of the victim and the diligent efforts of the investigation and prosecution teams.

The case, which had been dormant after the 2013 accusation, was revived thanks to the victim's renewed push for justice and the work of the Clermont County Sheriff’s Investigative Unit under Sheriff Stratton's leadership. According to reports by WCPO, Prosecutor Tekulve aims to seek the maximum possible sentence for the 50-year-old ex-deputy. Jones was previously employed at the Clermont County jail as a corrections officer before his tenure as a sheriff's deputy.
