
In a tragic turn of events last Saturday morning in Richardson, former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph Jr. was arrested following a fatal crash that claimed the life of Cody Morris, a 27-year-old motorcyclist from Plano. According to FOX 4 News, police were called to the scene in the northbound lanes of North Central Expressway near Park Boulevard just before 5 a.m., where they found Morris deceased.
Less than an hour later, having left the scene, Joseph made a call to the Plano Police Department claiming his involvement in the crash while driving a BMW sedan, as reported by CBS News. The officers, who spoke with Joseph after this confession, noted signs of intoxication leading to his arrest. He now faces charges of driving while intoxicated and a collision involving personal injury or death.
At this time, Joseph is held in Richardson Jail, and bond information has not been released. The Richardson Police Department's Special Crash Investigation Team is actively investigating the details surrounding this harrowing incident.
