A former Oakland County teacher is facing serious allegations and legal consequences after being charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. Jocelyn Sanroman, a 26-year-old from Pontiac, is accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student at Oakside Prep Academy in 2023, reports from ClickOnDetroit and FOX 2 Detroit confirmed.
The chain of events leading to the charges began when Sanroman allegedly disclosed details of the relationship to another teacher, who then reported the conversation to law enforcement. "This defendant is accused of using her position of authority to exploit a minor victim," stated Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald, simultaneously expressing disappointment at the breach of trust and appreciation for the whistleblower's action, "These allegations represent the ultimate breach of trust placed in educators by parents and the community," according to MLive.
