The search for Larry Baker, a Fort Collins man reported missing after his car was found, has yet to yield results despite rigorous efforts by search crews. Over 60 personnel have been involved in the search effort, including tracking dogs, drones, ground crews, scuba divers, and advanced underwater search technology, scouring Watson Lake and over 3.5 miles of the Poudre River as well as surrounding terrain, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
These efforts persisted from dusk till dawn on June 17 and continued through the next day. Despite the resource-intensive deployment, including several types of sophisticated underwater search tools, the unfortunate truth stands: not a single clue has emerged concerning Mr. Baker’s location. The search at Watson Lake State Wildlife Area, based on the report, has subsequently concluded, as they have exhausted efforts at this specific locale, and the area has been opened again to the public.
Investigators are pressing forward, clinging to the hope of any shred of information that may surface. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office is actively encouraging anyone with potential leads. Particularly, those who might have seen Mr. Baker on June 16 or 17 around Watson Lake are urged to step forward and contact LCSO Investigator Napolitano at (970) 498-5360 in an attempt to piece together the days leading up to his disappearance.
