In a public call for assistance, the Fort Worth Police Department has turned to social media to seek leads on a fatal hit-and-run incident that left one motorcyclist dead. The collision, which took place on May 30, occurred at around 11:21 p.m. in the 3100 block of the IH30 Eastbound lanes. According to a Facebook post by the Fort Worth Police Department, witnesses reported that the motorcycle collided with a black Nissan Altima. The vehicle did not stop and continued eastbound, eventually taking the Rosedale exit.
The police are encouraging anyone with information about this case to come forward and reach out. "If you or someone you know witnessed this collision, please call 817-392-4868 to speak with the team investigating the collision," the Fort Worth Police Department urged in their call to action. It's unclear at this time whether the driver of the black Nissan Altima was aware of the collision, however, the failure to stop after an accident involving personal injury or death is a criminal offense under Texas law.
The Fort Worth Police Department's request reflects an increasing reliance on community involvement in solving crimes. The case number for the incident is 250039657, and it has been shared extensively across social media platforms in hopes of finding anyone with potentially valuable information. The authorities have not yet released any information concerning the deceased motorcyclist, likely pending notification of next of kin.
