Tulsa police are actively investigating a shooting that occurred early yesterday morning, which left four teenagers injured near the infamous Cry Baby Hill following a series of disturbances involving large groups of juveniles throughout the night; reportedly stemming from an initial gathering at an AirBnb, as confirmed by FOX23 News.
According to News9, the violent outbreak happened around 1 a.m. in a parking lot near Riverside Drive and Lawton Avenue; officers had previously dispersed a large group from a party on South Elwood Avenue before encountering additional disturbances at a QuikTrip on South Denver Avenue which then escalated eventually leading to the shootings where one victim was found with a gunshot wound to the neck and another with abdominal injuries, among others.
A local resident described the chaos to FOX23 News, recalling "about 20 gunshots" fired in rapid succession followed by people scrambling to flee, with "hoards of people" running through properties to evade the gunfire, leaving the area in disarray with abandoned shoes and tire marks.
Tulsa Police found shell casings scattered around the parking lot and damage extending to nearby homes and vehicles, with bullets striking several sites; they identified no suspects yet in custody as per the latest reports while a vehicle discovered near West 13th Street and South Jackson Avenue exhibited multiple bullet holes and shattered windows - the driver affirming not being present during the incident, according to KOCO News.
