A devastating fire has engulfed the Red Lobster located at 1553 North Dixie Highway, Frenchtown Township, leading authorities to pronounce the establishment a total loss. According to CBS Detroit, the blaze that decimated the Monroe County restaurant was reported yesterday, with emergency services alerted to the situation around 2:15 a.m. after smoke was seen billowing from the structure.
The incident drew wide attention from multiple first responder units. Frenchtown Township Fire Chief Wendy Stevens shared with CBS Detroit, "Obviously, the building is a total loss," as firefighters were forced to adopt a defensive strategy when the ceiling began to collapse. The inferno necessitated closing portions of North Dixie Highway to manage the emergency vehicles present on site.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with the fire. A network of fire crews from the surrounding townships provided needed backup, as documented by ClickOnDetroit. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has since been working to unveil the origin and cause of the fire, but has found nothing suspicious thus far.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into this unfortunate event, with the Monroe County Fire Investigation Team collaborating closely with the Frenchtown Township Fire Department. Any individuals with information about the incident are urged to contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau, a plea reiterated in the social media post from Monroe County Reporters- Sponsored by Lucy's Frozen Custard.
