Gearing up for a change, residents and visitors of Garland will need to mark their calendars as the city adjusts the business hours for several municipal buildings. Starting Monday, June 16, those visiting the Fire Administration Building at 1500 State Highway 66 will find its doors open between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. from Mondays to Thursdays, while the lobby will remain closed on Fridays, according to the City of Garland.

To better accommodate staff training and department meetings, a delayed 10 a.m. start will occur on the first and third Wednesdays of each month for the Building Inspection, Code Compliance, and Planning & Development departments, effective July 2. However, only the departments located at the Ronald Jones Municipal Building, situated at 800 Main St., are subject to this late opening, as confirmed by the stated changes. Public services here will be paused until the clock strikes ten on those specific Wednesdays.

Meanwhile, operations for Code Compliance will continue to operate from their spot in the Carver 3 building at 210 Carver St., Suite 101. The shared communal space within Carver 3 will not experience any disruptions, ensuring that other departments within that building will maintain their regular business hours. Garland officials provided this specific clarification to ensure that public access to non-impacted services remains unhindered.
