A man from Grass Valley faces multiple charges after Nevada County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a late-night domestic disturbance. According to a Facebook post by the Nevada County Sheriff's Office, Sergio Aguilar, 46, was arrested on June 19 following a 9-1-1 call where a woman alleged she was being followed by Aguilar with threats of violence and brandishing a firearm.
The incident unfolded just after midnight when the woman left Aguilar's residence and was subsequently pursued by him in his vehicle, during which he is said to have displayed a handgun multiple times, Aguilar, already prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior felony conviction and under an active domestic violence restraining order, was subsequently apprehended at his home on South Ponderosa Way. Despite these allegations, the investigation continues, and Aguilar remains in custody with a bail set at $100,000.
Further inquiry led to a search warrant at Aguilar's residence, where deputies discovered the gun presumed used during the altercation, as well as additional magazines, ammunition, cocaine, and materials commonly associated with narcotics distribution. According to the Sheriff's Office's statement, the search also revealed that Aguilar was released on bail in connection with a separate domestic violence case, which adds to his current legal complications.
Aguilar now faces numerous charges, including assault with a firearm, brandishing, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and committing a felony while out on bail, the nature of the charges suggesting a braided narrative of violence, intimidation, and illicit enterprise.
