A series of armed robberies at a North Central neighborhood apartment complex led to the arrest of two suspects. The first incident occurred this past Sunday, when at around 10:50 pm, a victim was confronted by four individuals, one brandishing a handgun. According to the City of Gresham, personal belongings, including keys, jewelry, and a hoodie, were taken from the victim before the suspects made their escape.

Officers who responded established a perimeter and started a search with a K9 unit. However, during the search, an unrelated shooting pulled their attention away, a statement from the Gresham Police indicated, as per the City of Gresham. The second incident, occurring just over two hours later at the same apartment complex, involved a male victim who reported being ambushed by two armed males after being lured by two females via Instagram. Police noted that one of the male suspects was wearing a "distinctive brand hoodie" taken from the first robbery victim.

The situation escalated into the early hours when officers on a robbery suppression detail observed two males at around 3:00 am near the complex’s basketball courts. Attempting to make contact, the suspects fled, one of whom was later found by officers wearing the previously stolen sweatshirt.

The subsequent chase resulted in the apprehension of the two suspects. Officers, with the help of Officer Debler and K9 Jager, tracked the second suspect hiding in the nearby neighborhood, a report to the police. Jeremiah White, 18, was taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center facing charges of first-degree robbery alongside other related counts. A second suspect, a 17-year-old male, was taken to the Donald E. Long Home on charges similar to White's. The Gresham Police Department, encouraging anyone with information to come forward, continues its investigation and has opened a tip line at 503-618-2317, the City of Gresham stated.
