A Harper Woods man was recently charged in connection to a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a Detroit man earlier this year. William Daniel Moore, 41, is facing charges for the shooting death of Emmanuel Draughan, 21, as reported by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, the incident took place on March 12 at approximately 5:22 p.m. at a residence on the 14700 block of Tacoma Street in Detroit. Defendant Moore is alleged to have fired a handgun multiple times, hitting Draughan in the chest. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The Detroit Police Department's investigation led to Moore's arrest on March 17.
Moore has been charged with several felony counts, including First-Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, and two counts of Felony Firearm. These charges are mere allegations at this point, and the defendant remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Moore was arraigned on March 31 and is currently being held in jail.
Following a preliminary examination before Judge Shawn Jacque on May 29, Moore was bound over as charged. The arraignment on the information is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 9:35 a.m. before Judge Tracy Green, as confirmed by the official court documents. Individuals seeking further details or a photograph of the defendant are encouraged to reach out to the Detroit Police Department.
