Constables from Harris County's Precinct 4 have successfully intervened in a potential road safety disaster, apprehending Alma Payne for driving while substantially impaired – marking her second such offense. Last Saturday, a deputy responded to a minor collision on the 6600 block of Wimbledon Trail Road, where Payne, the driver deemed responsible, demonstrated pronounced signs of intoxication, as reported by Precinct 4.
Field sobriety tests confirmed officers’ suspicions that she was under the influence. They later discovered that Payne had a prior conviction for Driving While Intoxicated, making the situation more serious for her. Constable Mark Herman's Office was firm in their resolution, as Payne was taken into custody and charged, her bail set at a mere $100.00 in County Court 12, a figure that might seem low given the circumstances of her repeat offense.
