On a routine patrol this past Wednesday, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office pulled over a vehicle on Northpointe Ridge Lane. The driver, identified as Jennifer Fleischhauer, exhibited clear signs of intoxication which prompted the officers to administer Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, as detailed in a report on the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Facebook page.
The tests substantiated the deputies' suspicions, determining that Fleischhauer was indeed under the influence. A blood specimen was taken following the acquisition and execution of a warrant, further cementing the situation's gravity. In a move to keep the public informed, and perhaps warned, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 shared on their Facebook post: "Jennifer Fleischhauer was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated." The bond for her release was set at a mere $100.00 out of County Court 8.
Driving while intoxicated remains a pervasive issue, posing real dangers on roadways not just in Harris County, but across the nation. The Harris County Constable Precinct 4 frequently updates the community through its social media handles and has recently introduced the “C4 NOW” mobile app, designed to provide live updates on crime, arrest reports, as well as distribute safety tips and traffic accident news to the area residents.
As law enforcement continues to intercept and prevent potentially catastrophic incidences, the community's awareness, and engagement with such tools is equally paramount. The initiative taken by Harris County Constable Precinct 4, underscores ongoing efforts to mitigate the risks drunken drivers pose to themselves and others.
