
Hillsborough County is on the lookout for civic-minded individuals to join its newly minted Hillsborough DOGE Liaison Committee. According to the official county announcement, residents who are registered voters in Hillsborough County are encouraged to apply. This opportunity is strictly volunteer-based, and participants will not receive monetary compensation for their service.
Interested parties are required to submit a complete Application/Questionnaire, a Standards of Conduct Form, and a resume. The documentation necessitates to be fully executed with signatures, dates, and thorough answers. Only those with finished applications will be considered for the role. The deadline to apply is fast approaching, with submissions due by the end of business on July 9. Final selections are scheduled to be made during a Board of County Commissioners meeting set for either July or August.
The Liaison Committee's function is to offer advisory insights to the Board and County Administrator on matters related to the EOG DOGE Team. Membership comprises five selected individuals by majority Board vote, and the committee’s authorization extends monthly for a year, a term which may only be extended by another Board majority vote. According to the county, "The Liaison Committee will provide written updates monthly, with a final report at the conclusion of its work."
With five positions available, Hillsborough County is aiming to attract candidates who bring expertise in the fields of accounting, economics, finance, auditing, information technology, or human resources. To be eligible, applicants must not only hold at least one of the relevant educational credentials but also be residents of the county themselves. For those appointed, the committee is expected to meet on a monthly basis, ensuring systematic communication and progress.
