Residents of a Waianae neighborhood were jolted on the morning of June 12, as a house on Leihua Street burst into flames. The Honolulu Fire Department responded swiftly, with the first unit arriving on-scene within two minutes of the 911 call, which was logged at 7:33 a.m. The statement from the Honolulu Fire Department detailed that upon arrival, firefighters encountered a small, two-story house visibly ravaged by smoke and fire.
Acting with precision, Honolulu Fire Department's 37 personnel across 12 units worked to secure a water supply and launch an offensive against the blaze—their efforts wrapped in haste. In a restrained acknowledgment of their efficiency, the Honolulu Fire Department official report stated that they managed to declare the fire under control by 8:02 a.m., a mere half hour after the firefighters' arrival, and had fully extinguished it by 8:57 a.m. during which all seven inhabitants had safely exited the building.
Thankfully, the incident concluded without injury to either the fire department personnel or the home's residents. Immediately following the fire suppression, the Honolulu Fire Department reported that all personnel were accounted for and unharmed.
